  • So add me on Facebook already

Seeing my wife enjoying Facebook so much, I finally succumbed to the pressure and set up an account. If you’re on Facebook, add me as a friend (Brian Volpone). I’ve only messed around on there for a few minutes, but it seems pretty well done and simple to keep in touch with people.

We’ll see how this goes. Xanga still seems the best site for us blogging purists. (Actually, I haven’t really checked out that many blogging sites, but Xanga is way better than MySpace anyway.)

  • hope you stay in touch here in Xangaland. :)

  • @IfWallsCouldTalk21 -

I don’t plan to disappear from Xanga. I have too many good friends here! :)

  • Personally, besides the “instant messaging” feature, I absolutely do not comprehend the appeal of facebook. And in my opinion it is anything but simple. And all the “applications” drive me nuts.

But people are flocking there by the droves. Xanga is dead except but for a rare few…People post now and then but now longer read or comment on anyone else’s posts.

  • I like Facebook for the simple fact that I have caught up with most of my highschool friends. But I LOVE XANGA for the blogs…

Hope you’re having a great day!

  • i will go there and add you now.  look for the friend invite from lesley rockafellow webster.  i love facebook but it serves a totally different purpose than xanga does.

@bonzojferardi - i post almost every day and i read AND comment lots of posts.  :)    just thought you might be interested in knowing that.  hee hee.

  • @PhilippiansThree14 -

I imagine you mean on facebook? I have as of yet not figured out how to even post on facebook. It certainly is not as intuitive as xanga in that regard.

  • YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

Now i get to throw things at you!

    *winks*

  • @narellew -

    That sounds great! :)

Did you ever listen to Jim Croce?

  • @bonzojferardi - oh yes, i do mean here.  i post (almost) every day here on xanga.  i was trying to respond to what you said about people not posting or reading or commenting anymore.  i am also on facebook every day too though and yeah, i stay busy on there.  i really like that i am still in contact with people i otherwise see maybe once every few years at the most.  plus, i love those applications, heh heh.  i play tons of games on there… wordtwist, poker, scrabble, etc.

  • @PhilippiansThree14 -

You obviously have a lot more time than most of the people I know on xanga right now.

  • @bonzojferardi - lol… time?  not so much.  obsession?  yes so much.

  • FB is great for game playing, but Xanga is where the true bloggers go! IMHO

  • Thanks for the birthday note. It hasn’t been as awful as I expected it would be. I guess I had to let go of the idea that it would be full of stormy rainclouds chasing me down to zap me with a lightning bolt or two.

    Anyhow…

    Thanks again.

Hope you are having a good day.

  • P.S. XANGA is the best for blogging. I guess facebook is more of a way to stay connected with the people I know in the “real world” though.
