  • So am I a professional model?

Well, my brother always told me that if you got paid for something, that made you a “professional”. Makes sense, right?

So when I was about five years old, somehow my parents had me photographed for a place called Glah Brothers Tuxedos. Another little boy and I got dressed up in white tuxes and modeled a picture for the camera. We held wedding rings on what turned out to be folded Glah Brothers t-shirts. We got to keep the shirts as our “pay”. So therefore I am a “professional model”.  :)

By that standard, I am a professional in several other areas.

    • Since I’ve led singing in the churches in which I’ve been employed, I’m a professional musician.
    • I’ve played basketball as part of my youth pastor duties; therefore, I’m a professional basketball player. This would also be true about a lot of other sports and activities – pro (mini) golfer, pro quarterback, pro hide-and-seeker, professional driver, etc.
    • I’ve poured concrete professionally when I helped a friend pour his driveway and he paid me.
    • I played a mean and a nice boss in a video that one of our departments shot here at work. I’m a professional actor too – although I haven’t been affected by the writers’ strike.
    • I’m a professional writer (this is true, even without stretching the truth).

So what are YOUR professional occupations? (Be sure to keep it clean. This is a family site.)

  • Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  • A model, my senor pictures were used in an add for a while. I was paid.

    A barista

    A hand on dairy farm

A heavy equipment operator. (at home for my father)

“Be sure to keep it clean”

What do you think of us? Even I have my standards, as rough as they my sometimes be.

  • So… you got paid to be a pro hide-and-seeker? Awesomeness. You’re a cool dad! Professional babysitter- that’d be me.

  • Have you ever seen those pictures of little girls that look much to adult? That is what my senior pictures look like. Maybe I will dig them up, so you can see me trying to look much to glamorous for a 17 year old. The photographer did a very good job, it was what I wanted.

  • I have never modeled anything.

But I am a published photographer and I actually got paid for my pictures!

  • I’m a professional production assistant.  Videographer.  Photographer.  Secretary.  Consultant.  When I was 18 a teleresearcher, don’t hate me.

  • i’m a professional cowboy, unicycler, musician, artist, street performer, soccer referree, dog sitter, duct tape artist, and video editor. I might be missing some.

  • hey! i’m not professional at anything i don’t guess. have a wonderful Christmas!!!

  • I’m a professional singer, a professional writer, and I don’t know what all else.

  • Oh! I’ve also been a professional artist and a professional decorator.

  • Oh you never KNEW that you were chatting to a professional singer now did you, oh that would also include being a proffessional song-writer as well … proffessional choruster and recording artist, proffessional singer for television adds …  I have had something that I have written about a womans writings added as a blerb for her published book … so does that make me a  proffessional critique or published writer? I have come up with a title for a book for a friend who is getting it published … so what does THAT make me? Over here in Australia mothers who’s family do not make a certain amount of money get paid by the government to stay home and take care of their children instead of working and putting their children into childcare… so I have been a professional mother as well.  My artwork has been used for sundayschools in a number of places, so i am also an artist …….. made it into the Brisbane

Goodness, i didnt know i was THIS good!

You may call me Mrs Willmott ……..

  • Hmm. So I was a professional writer. And if an allowance counts, I was a professional basketball player. Haha.

  • hi. yeah, we’re moved back permanently now. well as permanently as we were in Ukraine, until God leads us elsewhere!! but I’d love to stay here. it’s so good to be near family. I had caleb here in the states but was in ukraine til 7 months pregnancy. so mom was there for his birth and the first six weeks afterward and that’s about it. I’ll post more on what we’re up to soon. thanks for writing!

  • Haha you are hilarious!  Thanks for the encouragement.  It’s nice to have a xanga as a forum to express my feelings.  I have an easier time writing them out than speaking.  And it’s nice because John can read my entries if he wants and can get a better idea of how I feel.  Which is what he did this time.

  • With bated breath and fingers aquiver, I searched the net for information that may have been of help …….

    and came up with:

  • I am a professional mother who is paid in hugs and kisses daily

  • ha! clever. :) I suppose that makes me a professional chef, as my mom has been known to pay me a few times to cook dinner for her and my dad.

  • (i would do it for free, but she’s a generous mom!)

  • professional student LOL

  • good idea! ‘not as heavy either ;p

  • Professional Hide and Seeker! That is awesome.

My youngest daughter wants to be a Blue Flower Picker when she grows up.

  • I am a professional waitress (at a pizza place!), a professional knitter (a friend gave me a Sonic slushie in return for a dishcloth lesson), a professional pastor’s wife (hubby gets paid, which covers me), and a professional housecleaner (I do the housecleaning and hubby pays me back by working hard at the church).

RYC: Haha. I was wondering when someone was going to comment on the coffee table mess. The book you wondered about was the 109th Annual Minutes of the Jonesboro Association of Missionary Baptist Churches for 2006. There’s also two phonebooks, a couple Voice of the Martyrs magazines, an address book, and other assorted junk.

  • RYC: Exactly, I love and hate Richard Adams’ writing. It’s wonderful, but so so sad.
