  • MVP

Oh my soul, Jimmy Rollins is out of his mind! Google his name Monday morning and see what I mean.

  • Awesome, awesome video!

This is an incredible depiction of Christ's love - and our typical response - set to Lifehouse's "You're All I Need". It's really worth the 5-6 minutes it takes to see it.

  • Desert Life

AZDaisy, I thought of you when I read this, the only person I know that lives in a desert!

  • Birthday ...

Today is Lindsay's birthday. Everyone should go to her site and wish her a happy day.

  • My NEW fortune cookie!!

It's not like I eat out all the time or anything, but I got another weird fortune cookie today! This one was cut so that I got the bottom line of one fortune and the top of the top line of the next. It said ...

    you too can become great.

    Some say faith is nowhere.

So I'm open to interpretations for this one too.

  • Two quotes

Here are two quotes for your daily contemplation:

It is hard enough to remember
my opinions, without also remembering my reasons for them.

    Friedrich Nietzsche

If God is nothing more than a rule keeper or a commandment maker, then why would anyone want anything to do with him?"

    Jarrett Stevens,

The Deity Formerly Known as God

Both of those make more sense than the fortune cookie!

  • Fortune Cookie

Bev and I ate at a Chinese restaurant tonight. Here is what my fortune cookie said ...

You are in the vicinity of a good time. Get the shy to join in.

Anyone want to translate that into English for me?!

  • Great Book Series

In case you can't see the "Currently Reading" list, I'm working on Shadow Over Kiriath (Legends of the Guardian King) by Karen Hancock. This is a four book series and it is fantastic.

I've read the first three books before, but since the fourth book just came out after a two year wait, I've been reading the first three again before reading the last.

Tara handed me the first book Light of Eidon a couple of years ago when I needed something to read on a trip. The cover art is kind of hokey and the blurb on the back didn't exactly make me salivate, but since I didn't have anything else I figured I'd give it a crack. Boy, am I glad I did!

The stories and the writing are awesome, the characters are well developed and there are plenty of plot twists. I judge a book by how eager I am to find time to read it. With this set, I often try to sneak a read whenever possible.

If you're looking for a good story that will last for a while, pick up Light of Eidon and get immersed. This is considered fantasy genre/Christian allegory, but anyone who likes a good story will enjoy it.
