  • Join the blogring!

Here is a shameless plug to join a new blogring "I love being married!" I've got a burden to show everyone that marriage is the greatest show on earth. That's why I'm always kissing my wife in front of the kids (my own and at youth group) and bragging on my wife, etc. Thankfully, I've got an amazing wife that makes it easy to stay in love!

If you'd like to tell the world that marriage is great, click this link: http://groups.xanga.com/groups/group.aspx?id=2493513.

Do you remember how we met or the first time we met? Please leave it in the comment section if you do.

I've thought about this several times lately. I've got a bunch of Xanga friends but for some of you wonderful people, I don't remember the first time we talked. It just sort of happened. And some of you IRL friends are the same way. I don't remember specifically the first time or place we met.

So here's the fun game -- share the memories if you have them. And feel free to ask the same thing on your blog. Maybe we'll start the next big Xanga fad together.

  • Rubik's Cube

The other night, Dylan dug out two Rubik's Cubes from somewhere in his toy collection. He gave me one and kept the smaller one for himself. It's been years since I could really solve those, although not too long ago I did one almost more by accident.

To Dylan's delight, I did the first one after I put him to bed, then I solved his during lunch yesterday (I think it was yesterday!). I'd forgotten how fun they are. I don't remember all the moves, but I can do enough, or at least play around with it enough, to get them solved apparently.

When I was in high school, I'd carry my cube to school and experiment with all sorts of patterns. If you remove one of the colors, you can use a Rubik's Cube like a wordless book (yellow for gold, then black from the side with the removed stickers, red, white and green. Wait, isn't blue in there somewhere?). You hand a cube to someone, ask them to mess it up, then you solve it and witness to them. One of the things I discovered was how to make crosses on all six sides, which is a cool way to end the presentation.

At my best, I think I solved a cube in under 2 minutes. Now people are solving them in less than 20 seconds. That's absolutely amazing!

Have you ever tried to solve Rubik's cube?

EDIT: I'd forgotten I had this on an old website. Check this out just for fun!
