Blood
Yesterday I gave blood for the first time. Notice I didn’t say “shed blood”.
They say that every time you donate blood you save one person’s life. Think about the fact that Jesus donated His blood and saved every one who ever lived – or at least made it possible for them to be saved.I also got a cool t-shirt as a thank you. It shows Frankenstein’s monster and the shirt reads, “Frankie Says Give Blood”.
Have you ever donated blood?

every two months or so
I’m O negative, they really need it.
For years they would not take my blood when I tried because I was getting regular allergy shots.
Around 1 year ago I had an autologous blood transfusion, which is taking my own blood to be kept and used if necessary during an operation I was to have. Thankfully, they never needed the extra blood, so I was told it gets discarded.
I was amazed at how big the needle was. A lot bigger than the ones they use for blood samples. The nurse said it’s because so much more blood is involved, they need a bigger pipeline (it goes faster). They were practically forcing me to eat more of the snacks. Eat, eat!
Howdy matey! Yeah i used to donate blood and then came up with this heart problem thingy and havent been able to donate since… at least until i get to see a heart specialist … its been over 2 years so far … sigh.
I love the fact that so little from me can do so much in the life of another … if only spreading the gospel in the western world was quite so easy! If only it was sought after with equal desire …
One day, hey Brian, if we keep plugging away it will happen one day!
Your aussie sis,
Narelle
I’ve never given blood, since I’m still not totally healthy enough. I’m surprised you’ve waited this long to do it!
Our fraternity had a blood bank that we regularly donated to as a service project and I have routinely donated blood since then.
