  • Phillies Part 2

Figures. I talk about how well the Phillies are doing and they lose tonight. Good thing they play 162 games a year. Some manager once said that every major league baseball team, no matter how good, would lose a third of their games. And every team, no matter how bad, would win a third of their games. It was what you do with the other third that determines where you stand at the end of the year. That seems to be true. So in a log season, you don’t stress one loss.

Can you see any spiritual applications there?

  • HAha- you’re funny. But hey, it’s true. At the end of all of that, they really will see where they stand. Go you. I went to Phillies game about 2 years ago(the same weekend I got proposed to in NY!) and they did good! (Their mascot is kind of crazified though huh?)

I just read that the Phillie Phanatic was voted the #1 mascot in sports.

I think it was Buddy Ryan who used to say that whatever your record was at the end of the year, that’s pretty much what you were.

You’re from the Pittsburgh area, right?

  • I’m sorry dear .. as soon as I read ‘Phillies part 2′ I seemed to have dropped off until the part about spiritual applications.  No idea .. I would have to go back and start reading again, then drop off, then wonder what the hey you were meaning again, then go back to reading then drop off, then … i suppose by now you have worked out that i would be a terrible wheel of dissapointment to be on should i decide to try …….

  • No, I’m from Texas. We were in New Jersey initially because my husbands parents live there right now. We were in the Philly for the game though.
