  • It’s time once again for …

    Two Truths and a Lie

This time we will focus on eyewear. Which of the following three statements is a false?

    1. I hate wearing glasses but I love wearing sun glasses.
    2. I was in my late twenties when I started wearing glasses.
    3. I once forgot to go to an eye doctor appointment, delaying getting my first pair of glasses for several years.

I have a feeling this won’t be too hard.

  • RYC: We have six – David, adopted, 19; Liz, bio, 17; Mary, adopted, 17; Henry, adopted, 16; Pete, bio, 13; Tino, adopted, 12. The four adopteds are three full and one half bio siblings, and they’ve been with us for a little over 8 years.

I started wearing glasses at age 8 because I couldn’t see the board in school. Before that, I think my parents just thought I was slow. Hey, honey, look at that horse in the field (as we were driving by – and I loved horses). huh? what horse? where? heck, what field?! When I first got them, my vision was 20/200 – legally blind in some states.

  • numero deux!

numero trois is one that i would do……..oh…..yes…….i would DEFINATELY do that one!

    Blessings bro!

  • I am going to go with #3 being false.  Have a great weekend Brian!

  • Where’s the old pictures you were telling me about?

  • Found the pics! They’re wonderful!

  • I most certainly WILL NOT tell your mom I liked the pictures! She probably doesn’t even know you posted them on the internet and she’ll be horrified! Are you setting me up to get clobbered by an old lady?

Or, I’ll just tell her I liked the pictures that Brian showed me. Yeah. That’s the ticket. I won’t mention that Brian also showed them to the rest of the frickin’ WORLD!

  • regarding your question: I took my first piano lesson in junior high…

Yes, I have to work and go to school in the summer, hence the whining… ‘and why is it that as kids we always wanted to grow up so fast?

    have a great weekend,

    ~M

  • I suspect it was #2.  Typically peoples either start wearing glasses before adolescence or if they escape, then they need to get them when they get presbyopia in their 40′s.  Most people don’t start with glasses in their 20′s.

  • Yeah, it’s cool, I try to meet new Xangas every once in a while. The quote came from Buddha. Ha ha, which friends? May I have the link to their Xangas? I’d like to see how they thought of the country!

  • I mean Xangans. Not Xangas. Ugh.

  • There are quite a lot of skating rinks here in the Philippines. The major malls all have them. Hmm. I saw your comment in bittersunday’s Xanga. And I clicked. Ha, ha :) Thanks for adding me as a friend!

  • ryc: thank you.

and sorry for the typo of which spell check did not catch.

hope you’re having a good weekend.

  • heya. the only reason they’ve given us so far is “infection” in general. I guess now we’re trying to figure out what kind of infection. I’m just jumping through the hoops!

  • oops, that last comment was from me. I’m at a friend’s and they were signed in already. Sorry!

  • I finally wrote all about what we do here and stuff and then I lost it. really stinks, it was long! well anyway, I can summarize it again. We’re with Calvary Chapel, specifically Horizon Christian Fellowship in Indianapolis. There are no contracts or anything, we just get sent by our church and live and serve as long as the Lord leads us to be here. Just like God lead Israel by a pillar of cloud and of fire, and they never knew if they’d be at their camp for 2 days or 200, so we don’t know how long we’ll be here, but we’re ready to move when the pillar moves. There are a lot of Calvary Chapel missionaries here in Ukraine and all over the world, really. We have 13-15 churches here in Ukraine, mostly with missionary pastors still, but the first one, kinda the head one, has now been handed over to an anointed man of God, a Ukrainian, to pastor it. Wes and I serve under a pastor, supporting him in any way needed. Wes teaches in our Discipleship Training School, along with our pastor Mike. He also leads youth group and does lots of other things like driving for events and repairman type stuff. For the summer we’re having girls Bible study instead of youth group, which I am leading. (We only have a couple guys anyway, pray for more!) We lead groups when they come over and our own youth group is taking a mission trip this summer to a village in Crimea, in southern Ukriane. Well that’s a little glimpse of what we do!
