  During our recent trip …

  1. We saw a live alligator – LIE! This pretty much takes all the suspense out of the next two answers. The closest we got to seeing a live alligator was one evening when we were on a pontoon boat. Our host pointed to a spot nearby and said that it was an alligator. Usually all you see is their eyes above the water line. I took several pictures, even after we realized it was just a floating flower. We did see a couple of snakes and brought home a little live lizard.
  2. We slept for several hours in a rest stop – TRUE! We changed our original plans and didn’t leave until 12:30 pm on Tuesday. Driving straight through was a bit rough, but we stopped and slept for 2-3 hours at a rest stop in Virginia. That and two traffic jams added several hours to our trip home. Ugh!
  3. I broke my tooth – TRUE! Our friends sent some snacks home with us, including a ziplock bag with a combination of Cheerios and M&Ms. I was chomping on some of those when I felt what I thought was something stuck on the back of one of my molars. After messing with it for a bit, I realized that the back of my tooth had broken off! My dentist appointment isn’t until next week. It doesn’t hurt or anything, and I’m thankful for that!
